Incubated by QAF Lab, Al-Reef Mushroom is a mushroom farming project based on the process encompassing the growth, harvest, storage, and selling of mushrooms. It aims to grow mushrooms of various kinds and distribute them in the market as a local product available across seasons.

Al-Reef Mushroom has implemented an innovative and sustainable solution for managing its waste by utilizing mushroom waste in a recycling process to develop and improve the soil. This process not only benefits the farm by reducing waste but also contributes positively to the environment by providing a solution for organic waste management. Mushroom waste is the leftover material from the cultivation of mushrooms. It is rich in nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium and contains a diverse range of microorganisms, making it an ideal component for soil improvement. At Al-Reef Mushroom farm, the waste is collected and treated to remove any contaminants before being reintroduced into the soil.

The process of reintroducing mushroom waste into the soil has numerous benefits. Firstly, it improves soil structure, which in turn enhances soil fertility and water-holding capacity. This, in turn, results in improved plant growth and higher crop yields.
